I want to thank my wife Amy and my parents Nahid and Farhad for their unwavering love and support throughout this race, including working at the polls all day today. I am also grateful to a long list of those who have been incredibly supportive, including my comrades on the Critical Care Aeromedical Transport Team, with whom I was proud to be deployed during this campaign.
Thanks as well to my talented and dedicated campaign team, who worked very hard to make me a better candidate, and very much succeeded. They are great group of hard-nosed idealists, and I will never forget their belief in what we were trying to do.
I am very proud of our campaign, and have no regrets. I believe that we managed to cut through the noise and turn the discussion toward the critical issues facing our District and the country.
For those who voted for me, contributed to our campaign and put in hours and weeks of time as volunteers, and to all those mentioned above, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
